Combining the social unease of GET OUT, the claustrophobic psychological menace of MISERY, and the relentless survival horror of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, BABYBACKS takes audiences on a disturbing journey from the unforgiving heat of the Sonoran Desert into the increasingly sinister confines of a rural American home.

On the run from ruthless cartel hitmen, young lovers Zoe and Mateo cross the scorching Sonoran Desert in search of a new life in America. Exhausted, vulnerable and running out of options, their situation becomes desperate when Mateo is badly injured. Then, seemingly, salvation arrives.

A generous older couple offers them shelter and the refuge they desperately need. But behind the doors of their isolated home, something is terribly wrong. What begins as an act of kindness slowly reveals itself as a terrifying trap — and Zoe and Mateo soon discover that escaping the desert may have only delivered them into an even more dangerous nightmare.

As the story moves from the vast, hostile landscape of the desert to the suffocating intimacy of captivity, BABYBACKS transforms from a tense frontier thriller into a raw and uncompromising fight for survival.

The film brings together a compelling cast of established screen talent, including Viridiana Márquez (Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire), Melissa Chambers (Dark Winds, Mayfair Witches), Ryan Rathbun (Oppenheimer, Babylon), and Ray Acevedo (American Sicario).
