ComingSoon can exclusively reveal the trailer for Wuthering Heights: House of the Damned. The movie gives Emily Brontë‘s 1847 novel a gothic horror twist. It was previously slated for an early release this year. However, the horror flick will be released digitally and on-demand on October 16, 2026.
The official synopsis reads, “Mr. Lockwood arrives at the remote and storm-battered Wuthering Heights, unaware that Catherine’s vengeful ghost walks its halls. Her obsessed lover, Heathcliff, feeds her bloodlust with human sacrifice, hoping to give her soul a new body to inhabit. As Lockwood grows sick and delusional, he is drawn deeper into their deadly, undying love and must escape before he becomes their next victim.”

What do we see in the Wuthering Heights: House of the Damned trailer?
The trailer opens up with a visitor named Mr. Lockwood staying over for the night at Wuthering Heights because of a storm. But the more time he spends in there, the more he realizes that there is something evil lurking within the walls.
House of the Damned takes on the same supernatural elements as the original Wuthering Heights. Here, the ghost of Catherine haunts the farmhouse; however, she takes on a much darker, more sinister appearance.
Meanwhile, the trailer shows Heathcliff becoming a madman who resorts to human sacrifice to appease Catherine’s ghost. In the trailer, a maid says, “He’s not of sound mind. Heartbreak can send a man to madness.” However, Heathcliff is also shown to be terrified of Catherine’s ghost.
The more time Lockwood spends at Wuthering Heights, the more his demeanor changes. With Catherine lurking around in mirrors and outside windows, Lockwood must make it out of Wuthering Heights before the haunting consumes him.
Wuthering Heights: House of the Damned is helmed by Becca Hirani and is written by Liana Failla. The ensemble includes Ross Townsend-Green, Sky Cheema, Elle O’Hara, Nicola Wright, Anna Coupé, Sam Rowlands, Gordon Joseph Millar, and Simon Weir. Hirani also served as producer, with Drew Penniall as executive producer.
