An NYC Shopping Editor’s Top Warm Socks for Winter Boots & Shoes

Judging by last winter, we’re feeling pretty confident that we’re gonna need thicker socks this upcoming season. While you might still be wearing your normal socks from the summer, boot season (and the chillier weather) is quickly approaching, and they won’t cut it for long. 

It’s time to up our boot—and overall winter shoe—sock game. Luckily, this NYC-based shopping writer did all the work for you and compiled a list of my personal and the internet’s favorites to get you the best winter socks we should all be buying this year. 

As someone who’s very picky with my socks, these socks need to keep me warm without making me sweat. They need to look cute over everything from my Tory Burch boots and Dr Martens Mary Janes to my Puma ballet sneakers and flats, while protecting my heels from blisters.

Most importantly, though, I can’t feel them while I have them on. They can’t feel too tight on me (or too loose), and the knit has to be well-constructed enough and soft enough that they feel comfortable to walk in for hours.
