Nathalie Emmanuel is set to headline the upcoming horror thriller Confinement, which has now secured a digital release date. The film will arrive on digital and premium video-on-demand platforms on September 1, 2026, without receiving a wide theatrical release. A trailer for the film has also been released, offering a first look at Emmanuel’s character and the story’s unsettling situation.
Emmanuel plays Stella, a pregnant woman who has recently been widowed. She accepts an invitation from her late husband’s estranged family to stay at their isolated countryside estate. However, their offer of support becomes increasingly disturbing when the family develops an intense interest in her unborn child. Stella eventually discovers that she is unable to leave the property before giving birth, forcing her to look for a way to escape.
The trailer follows Stella as she arrives at the estate and begins to notice the family’s unusual behavior. Their interest in her pregnancy grows increasingly alarming, while the isolated setting leaves Stella with limited options. The clip concludes with Stella attempting to escape from the estate.
Peter Howitt directed the film from a screenplay by Will Honley and April Maguire. Steven Paul produced Confinement, while Scott Karol and Conor O’Farrell served as executive producers. The film stars Emmanuel and Claire Forlani.
Paramount Global Content Distribution is distributing the film, which will be released next month.
