An exciting upcoming horror film from Full Moon Features serves as a cautionary tale about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence. AIMEE: The Visitor, directed by B-movie legend Charles Band, follows a hacker who unlocks an advanced AI program that takes the form of a beautiful woman.
But this alluring AI, named AIMEE, is not content with aiding humanity, no, this narcissistic and megalomaniac Artificial Intelligence’s mission is to seduce and destroy anyone who gets in her way.
AIMEE: The Visitor stars Dallas Schaefer as Scott Keyes, a brilliant but misanthropic computer hacker who generally prefers the company of computers to human beings. But Keyes’ life is about to be turned upside-down. Thanks to some code-breaking by his partners Hunter and Gazelle, Keyes is finally able to unlock AIMEE, an incredibly advanced Artificial Intelligence program that appears in the form of a beautiful and seductive woman. But what a smitten Keyes doesn’t realize, and what Gazelle soon discovers, is that AIMEE is an advanced infiltration program and has been designed to learn from whoever downloads her, become whatever he most desires, and in the process, take over, control, dominate, replicate, spread – and ultimately destroy anyone who opposes her.
This exploitation thriller evokes classic 80s techno-horror, warning viewers about the threats posed by unregulated artificial intelligence. AIMEE has been designed to replicate, dominate, and ruin lives. She serves as a stand-in for modern AI technologies that could go rogue if left unchecked.
AIMEE represents a groundbreaking use of AI in film. She is the first character entirely generated by AI technology, not digital effects or an actor in makeup. The eerie realism of her computer-generated image makes her menace all the more unsettling.
