While we wait for prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin,” which centers on a young Dexter Morgan in the early 1990s, we’ve learned tonight that the “Dexter” universe will also expand with an upcoming sequel series starring Michael C. Hall, titled “Dexter: Resurrection.”
Additionally, Michael C. Hall will narrate “Dexter: Original Sin.”
“We are thrilled to have the brilliant Michael C. Hall reprise his iconic role as Dexter Morgan in Showtime’s most successful series ever,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO. “While Dexter: Resurrection will appeal to the tens of millions of longtime fans, Dexter: Original Sin will introduce a whole new generation of viewers into this iconic series by starting from the beginning, which is sure to satisfy existing audiences as well.”
Showtime’s “Dexter: Resurrection” is expected to premiere in Summer 2025.
Both “Original Sin” and “Resurrection” follow in the wake of the original Showtime series, which aired from 2006 to 2013, as well as the more recent revival season “Dexter: New Blood.”
