Things are getting rather busy for the Terminator franchise at the moment. With the upcoming Netflix series Terminator Zero, and James Cameron teasing a Terminator project of his own, it’s now been revealed that Nacon and Nacon Studio Milan’s upcoming Steam title Terminator: Survivors is getting a release date bump. Originally scheduled for an October 24 release into Early Access, the open world survival title has been pushed back to 2025.
According to Nacon, the teams need more time to develop the world “that lives up to the franchise, and to provide an experience that fully meets the players’ expectations.”
“This deferral of the game’s release was a tough decision to make,” stated Marco Ponte, CEO & Creative Director of Nacon Studio Milan. “However, we believe that this additional time will enable us to ensure that our vision of the post-apocalyptic world of Terminator meets the expected level of quality.”
Terminator: Survivors casts you and your friends as a group of survivors in an open world set in the aftermath of Judgment Day. You are tasked with scouring the surrounding land for materials, information, other survivors and key resources in order to establish a base of operations for your fledgling group.
Skynet has expectedly sent out T-800s, with the goal to exterminate you and the rest of humanity. You must see humanity’s rise from the ashes and unravel the truth behind what happened when the bombs dropped, Skynet and the Terminator threat.
Along with an Early Access for PC via Steam release, Terminator: Survivors will also launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC at a later date.
