Serafini Productions was busy at The MIX Fall Online Showcase, announcing two new entries in its BrokenLore series, with one being unveiled during Tokyo Game Show next month. The first title, BrokenLore: DARK DAWN, is a first-person psychological horror title currently in development for PC via Steam. No release date has been announced.
The story for BrokenLore: DARK DAWN centres around abduction, human trafficking, and the darkest corners of the dark web, which “converge with psychological terror and hallucinations.” You play as kidnapping victim, forced to confront these dark crimes. But surviving your captors is only the beginning: your own mind may prove to be the deadliest enemy of all.
Time is against you, and every decision you make carries weight. Rest too long, and death may come in your sleep. Act too soon, and you risk being unprepared. You’ll need to scavenge and craft tools to improve your chances of survival. Every resource matters.
As mentioned, even your own mind is one of your obstacles in BrokenLore: DARK DAWN. Potent sedatives drag you into hallucinations that twist the familiar into the grotesque. Neglect your mental health, and panic will take control, putting you into a “Depressive Mode”. In this, dark entities hunt you relentlessly, feeding on your despair until nothing remains.
As for the unannounced BrokenLore title, the game will be presented alongside the latest information about the upcoming BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW, which is slated for release later this year on Steam and the PlayStation 5. In addition to the teaser trailer, Serafini also released three screenshots for the mystery title. This year’s Tokyo Game Show runs September 25 through September 28.
