Actor Keanu Reeves has revealed in a recent interview with ComicBook.com that he once accidentally split open a man’s head while filming a stunt scene for one of the “John Wick” movies. The popular action franchise has required Reeves to perform various intense stunts, including using nunchucks, swords, and speeding cars. Despite the risks, Reeves said that accidents on set are minimal, and the team takes care of each other.
Reeves also talked about the upcoming “John Wick: Chapter 4,” which he described as having the most action of any of the previous films. Reeves spent nearly three months training for the stunts in the latest installment, which includes a challenging car stunt in Paris where he had to learn how to do a reverse 180 and drift while reloading his prop gun and shooting it out of the door.
The actor also mentioned that the “John Wick” franchise has been physically demanding and that the fourth installment was the hardest physical role he has had in his career so far. Reeves explained that he had to be trained to have a “toolbox” of skills for the action sequences in the movie.
“John Wick: Chapter 4” features new enemies and reunites the titular character with old friends as he takes on the villainous High Table. The movie also stars Bill Skarsgård, Donnie Yen, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane.
“John Wick: Chapter 4” promises to be an action-packed movie, and Reeves’ commitment to his physically demanding role is evident. The franchise has become popular due to its intense stunts and thrilling action sequences, and fans can expect more of the same from the latest installment, which hits theaters on March 24 from Lionsgate.
