HNN spotlights the career of indie actress, Maritza Brikisak, who plays Anne Verbonic in the upcoming Mahal Empire film, Cursed Waters. She joins an outstanding cast that includes Greg Tally (Lt. Maritza Brikisak has an incredible background that has brought her to where she is now. Maritza was a Mission Control Engineer in the James Cameron documentary, Aliens of the Deep (2005) that explored the Mid-Ocean Ridge, a submerged chain of mountains that band the Earth and are home to some of the planet’s most unique life forms.
The popular soap opera, The Young and the Restless (2007) gave Maritza the opportunity to play an inmate and gain exposure on network television.
The Lurking Man (2017) is about a woman battling addiction is given a chance at redemption if she accepts Death’s offer. Maritza plays Cailean in this film that she also co-wrote with Keith Rommel.
Alister Kunkle believes death is in love with him. A simple smile from friend or stranger is all it takes to encourage death to kill. Maritza plays Death and Alister’s mom in the movie, The Cursed Man (2020).

The future is bright for Maritza Brikisak as she has two upcoming films from filmmaker, Thomas Walton. In the horror film, They Turned Us Into Killers, Maritza plays Detective Marcia Anderson along with a all star genre cast including Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, Michael Barryman, and Scout-Taylor Compton. And then, Maritza plays Darlene Rutherford in the highly anticipated, Camp Pleasant Lake. An enterprising couple, the Rutherfords, decide to open a horror camp on an abandoned camp property (Camp Pleasant Lake) where a young girl named Echo Meadows was kidnapped and her parents were brutally murdered 20 years prior. Maritza is part of an all star cast that includes Bonnie Aarons, Michael Pare’, and Jonathan Lipnicki.
