Time flies. We go to work, live life, drink coffee, and then every once in a while we get to do something we love. We have some fun. Some of us are taken back to our childhood. We may meet someone we never in our lives thought we would even see in -person. Unless you’re my mom and you tell everyone you will meet Al Pacino one day, and SHE actually did meet Al Pacino! But… I digress horror conventions and conventions in general are not just about meeting your favorite actor or horror icon. It’s the community. It’s the friends you have made over the years. Monster-Mania was hosted by Dave Hagan and his son Doug Hagan. They are a great family. They have gone above and beyond.
Monster-Mania 52 was gigantic. The expo center was packed and the vendor listed was never ending. Some of the familiar faces and some new ones. Jennifer Harding, Chris Rowan that owns Buffalo Bill’s House, and many more. There were aisles and rows upon of vendors. If you were shopping, if you need Christmas gifts for those family members that love horror or a friend with a great love for horror and more. You had so many options.
They also did quite a few panels. I was able to catch Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, The Monster Squad, and A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors cast panels. Everyone was so gracious with their time. The TERRIFIER 2 cast was there along with Director Damien Leone. Devon Sawa talking Chucky, Final Destination, Black Friday, Hunter, Hunter, and more.
I got to ask Bradley Greg from A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors a question about the extensive special effects for his character. He was happy to answer.
The celebrity list was quite extensive. The cosolay and costume contest was incredible. There was such a vast variety. You had of the key players and horror icons including Michael Myers, Billy the Puppet aka Jigsaw. If you have never been to a convention, you should check it out. Yes, there are lines, yes there are people. It can crazy but it can be so memorable.
Make sure to check out. Monster-Mania for updates
