Reanimated rock n rollers Dickie Devil and the Deviants are back and this time they brought a horde of the undead with them in their brand-new single “The Undead Wanna Rock n Roll.”
After a few years of singles, EPs, and line-up changes, 2022 saw the Deviants reborn as a power trio, with “The Undead Wanna Rock n Roll” marking the reanimated rocker’s first of many tracks to come off the band’s first full-length LP.
The Deviants embrace their cartoon punk reputation with this catchy, campy track and video that features Dickie Devil and the new line-up of Davey Deviant on bass, and Dewey Deviant on drums.
This first single and music video from their upcoming self-titled album sees the pop-punk rockers on their way to a gig when they unexpectedly find themselves at the gates of an old, spooky cemetery.
After being reassured by their pal Ronin James that the gig is on the other side of the super creepy cemetery and that all they have to do to get to the show is cross the harmless and in no way haunted or inhabited by legions of the flesh-eating dead, graveyard to get there, the trio foolishly enter the cemetery to find that its inhabitants are doing anything but resting in peace.
Instead, these grave walkers hunger for the sweet tunes that only Dickie Devil and the Deviants can provide, and oh boy, this horde is hungry.
The official music video is directed by Ronin James and features appearances by Steph Infection, a long-time friend of the Deviants, and Doggie Deviant, the Deviant’s demonic mascot/tour manager, who is modeled after the Egyptian god Anubis.
Dickie Devil and the Deviants are known for Ramonescore style pop punk music, that’s mixed with cartoony elements of horror and sci-fi. If you’re wondering what that looks and sounds like, some guy on the internet said it best, when he said “It’s like Scooby Doo meets The Ramones.”
