This year, for Halloween, the famous zombie film Night of the Living Dead, directed by George A. Romero and released in 1978, will be shown in theatres once more, but this time in 3D.
It has recently come to light that in honor of Halloween of this year, Regal will release Dawn of the Dead in theatres around the country. The film has been shown in a variety of locations before it was re-edited and re-released in theatres with the 3D treatment that was overseen by the director of the original production, Richard R. Rubinstein. Beginning on Friday, October 28 and continuing through Monday, October 31, Dawn of the Dead will be shown in 3-D in 250 theatres across the country thanks to a collaboration between Regal and Rubinstein’s New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.
Dawn of the Dead is still largely regarded as being among the very greatest zombie movies that have ever been made. Romero was the writer and director of the film. Tom Savini also makes an appearance in the film in a special capacity, in addition to starring with David Emge, Ken Foree, Gaylen Ross, and Scott Reiniger. Later on, the film would serve as the impetus for a reimagining that would be helmed by Zack Snyder and written by James Gunn, and it would be distributed to theatres in the year 2004. Romero would later direct a sequel to the picture, titled Day of the Dead, which was released in 1985.
The film is scheduled to make its debut between the dates of October 28 and October 31, and the restoration of the film to 3-D took place under the watchful supervision of the film’s original producer, Richard R. Rubinstein. [Case in point:] the film is scheduled to make its debut between the dates of October 28 and October 31.
