Crytek is continuing to supply players with new content for Hunt: Showdown during the waning Serpent Moon event (which Aaron took a look at last month). The latest content being the The Penitent DLC, which is now available on PC and consoles. Not only that, but Crytek has been dropping hints of what’s to come in the 1.10 update.
The Penitent DLC adds a new hunter in Damien Yedaiah, new weapon skins in Delirium (Caldwell Rival 78) and The Scourge (Nagant M1895 Officer Brawler), and a new consumable skin in False Sacrament (Regeneration Shot).
The lore behind Damien Yedaiah sees him having become addicted to pain as a way to silence the demons in his head. Unfortunately for him, the demons grew louder, no matter how much pain and suffering he inflicted upon himself. Eventually, Damien found relief in inflicting pain on others in the swamps of Louisiana.
Meanwhile, Crytek has been busy on Twitter teasing new content in the form of Stalker Beetles to Hunt: Showdown. From the video posted to Twitter, it would appear that the Stalker Beetle (which will hopefully get some explanation during Crytek’s livestream on Monday) will act as a sort of surveillance camera for players, allowing them to keep an eye on rival Hunters who may be camping.
Of course, it’s pure speculation at this point. We’ll have to wait and see just what the Stalker Beetle is really about tomorrow.
Currently, you can snag Hunt: Showdown on Steam, as well as PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
