From the producers of Something in the Dirt and The Mortuary Collection comes New Life, a tense thriller of apocalyptic proportions.
The feature debut by writer/director John Rosman stars Sonya Walger (“For All Mankind,” “Lost”), Hayley Erin (“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”), and Tony Amendola (Annabelle, The Curse of La Llorona).
Bloody Disgusting has been provided with exclusive first-look images from New Life this week, which you can check out above and below. All signs point to a character driven thriller, with the images giving nothing away.
In the film, “Elsa Gray (Walger) is a brilliant ‘fixer’ assigned to capture a mysterious woman (Erin) on the run. As the noose of the chase tightens, Elsa finds herself entangled in her own secret battle with ALS, desperately trying to stay ahead of the explosive case before it hurtles towards a cataclysmic finale.”
The stakes of this cat-and-mouse pursuit rise to apocalyptic proportions, set within the gorgeous backdrop of the Pacific Northwest.
In addition to the first look images, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively unveil movie’s official poster created by Akiko Stehrenberger, a 23-time CLIO award-winning artist. Stehrenberger explores the parallels between the two lead characters.
“Akiko is simply one of the best poster artists of all time. To have her contribute to the film, and explore its themes through her unparalleled vision has been one of the great gifts of this entire
process,” says director John Rosman.
“She’s also an extraordinary meme lord. I feel like this isn’t discussed enough in context to her work,” Rosman adds.
Producers include Justin Ross (The Mortuary Collection, The Old Ways), Dave Lawson Jr. (Something in the Dirt), and Mike Marchlewski.
No release date has been announced yet, but expect to hear more about New Life soon as it begins its festival run. Stay tuned for additional details on this horror-thriller as they arrive.
