Mahal Empire is a production company run by Michael and Sonny Mahal. They have mastered the art of crowd-funding by exceeding expectations on every Indiegogo campaign.
Their supporters are unanimous with the fact that the Mahal brothers are bringing something special to the independent filmmaking community. Actor / Producer, Lisa Hinds has been there for their epic journey and this is her perspective.
“In 2019 my friend Michelle Hill and I went to Caliente Nevada to Act in the movie Bridge of The Doomed. That is where we met Michael and Sonny Mahal for the first time. Since then we have been in 6 other Mahal Empire Production Movies.”
“It really is a unique Production Company. It’s like a big family on every set. Although all the movies are in the Horror genre we go from vampire movie ( Bloodthirst) to 1880’s horror western comedy ( Night of The Tommyknockers) to battling for your freedom in the ring ( Arena Wars ) to a beautiful tropical island with monsters ready to eat you ( Bermuda Island ).”
“Next up for the Mahal Empire is Cursed Waters, a Pirate movie. It was written by Adam Werth and BJ Mezek. I’m really looking forward to being in the next production. Feeling very fortunate to have been part of these movies with my friend Michelle. We have met so many incredible talented people.”
This is what others are saying about the Mahal Empire.
“Working with Michael and Sonny Mahal has been an absolute honor. Their generosity and commitment to the independent film community and their fans is truly unmatched and inspirational. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the entire Mahal team.
I really connected with their vision and supported the way they were giving people opportunities to be a part of the film industry. Giving back and helping others open doors that are normally closed has always been important to me. So I really appreciated what they were doing.” – Producer, Jason Van Loo
“Working on “Alien Storm“ was a fantastic experience. Michael and Sonny Mahal put together a wonderful team and the filming locations in Las Vegas were spectacular. This was my first time working on a Mahal film, and even though a number of the cast and crew had worked together on numerous films, I quickly felt like a part of the family. Adam Werth did a great job of not only directing the film but keeping the set casual and friendly.
I also had the opportunity to film a scene with the legendary Tom Arnold. He’s been in so many great movies and being able to work with him was a real thrill and definitely one of the highlights of my time on the set.” – Jeremy Hirsch
“When I first came into the entertainment industry, I met Michael & Sonny and immediately loved what I saw they were doing with their horror films. I was fortunate to become an Executive Producer on several of their movies and love their vision and look forward to working with them in the future not only as an Executive Producer but also as a production company under Moonless Media. Alien Storm is going to be an outstanding film and can’t wait to join them on Cursed Waters.” – Producer, Wayne D. Burdette Jr.
I have become a supporter of independent film as I began my career early in L.A. having appeared in many student film projects alongside film students from the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts. I developed a deep respect for the process and I could relate to the sacrifices required to make a great film. I saw the struggles of working with a limited budget and I learned the value of teamwork and how even the smallest contributions could make a huge difference. I learned about Mahal Empire after contributing to other independent films that had partnered with Mahal Empire for production and distribution. I started conducting research into what the Mahal Brother’s Mission Looked like and what Mahal Empire represented. I quickly discovered that Michael and Sonny Mahal and myself shared alot of common ground. They had a dream and they had incredible talent and desire to tell amazing stories. They started from humble beginnings and they made huge sacrifices to take chances on themselves that other people would not. They struggled to build their dreams and through it all they were successful because they believed in themselves and most importantly of all, they believe in their people. The story of the Mahal Brothers and the Conception of Mahal Empire resonated with me, because I can relate to the journey, I could see who they are as film makers and professionals and their vision and mission lined up with who I am as an entertainer and a professional and with the type of legacy that I know my family legacy represents. So, I did some research and found contact information for Michael Mahal, I reached out to him on a personal level and while I waited a reply, I found his film, “Alien Storm” on the crowd funding Platform, Indiegogo. I made my contribution, and Michael Mahal and I have since connected across Social Media Platforms and beyond. “Alien Storm” is just the beginning of what lies ahead in terms of our professional relationship. Michael and Sonny Mahal are two of the greatest film makers I have had the honor to support and as a Producer, I am truly proud to support their efforts and am eternally grateful for the opportunity to help bring great stories to our fan base. I encourage everyone who reads this message to find Mahal Empire Projects on Indiegogo and give what you can. No amount is too small. If you can’t give money, that’s okay. Share our campaigns on your social media. Every share and every dollar counts as we thank you for your support. – Producer, Lester G Reynolds
