We have the first official trailer for 50 Cent’s new bloody horror film, which has been described as “Saw meets Black Mirror.”
A group of influencers in Skill House find themselves in a beautiful home where they are being held captive in a bizarre popularity contest. Anyone with the fewest views at the end of a round is eliminated.
The slasher is a commentary on our culture’s current preoccupation with social media and the drive to achieve celebrity status through online means. One interpretation is that it is a scathing indictment of people who will go to any length to gain popularity online.
In July, news broke about how graphic the killings in Skill House were. One of the cameramen reportedly fainted while filming.
Entertainment Weekly, reach out to Ryan Kavanaugh for comments on the scene, he had this to say.
“When it happened, it was nighttime, dimly lit, and we were in the middle of filming a frightening scene that involved a lot of blood.” “One of our camera operators literally dropped and passed out. The camera broke, an on-set medic came and tended to him, and we broke for almost an hour.”
In addition to 50 Cent, the ensemble has been augmented with the additions of influencer Bryce Hall, MMA fighter Paige VanZant, actress and influencer Hannah Stocking, and actor Neal McDonough.
Especially due to the film’s already-famous splatter quotient, Skill House is sure to be a favourite with fans of the horror genre as well as those who loathe individuals in positions of authority. This is because Skill House features a high splatter quotient. How gruesome and dripping with blood is it going to get, exactly? How many more people will lose consciousness as a direct result of it being present?
You can get an idea of how chaotic things are going to get by watching the full teaser trailer, which can be found directly above this column. On the other hand, the movie has not yet been given an official release date, so for the time being, we will just have to wait.
