Six legendary vets from The Challenge are joining reality titans from CBS‘ Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race for the second season of the network’s The Challenge: USA.
The competition returns with a two-part premiere, beginning on Thursday, August 11 at 10/9c and continuing on Sunday, August 13 at 9/8c. Following the premiere, The Challenge: USA will air twice a week, on Thursdays at 10/9c and Sundays at 9/8c for the first three weeks. Then, starting on August 31, it will only air on Thursdays. T.J. Lavin returns as host.
The Challenge vets joining the global franchise are: former champions Tori Deal, Jonna Mannion, Wes Bergmann, and Johnny “Bananas” DeVenanzio (who is the player with the most season wins of the franchise ever). CBS reality stars (who will make Challenge history by facing off against franchise legends for the first time on the network) competing include Survivor winners Michele Fitzgerald and Chris Underwood; Big Brother winner Josh Martinez, Tyler Crispen, and Tiffany Mitchell; and The Amazing Race’s Luis Colon and Dusty Harris.
In the end, only one man and one woman will have the chance to walk away with the title of Challenge Champions and equal split of the grand prize of $500,000. Watch the trailer above for a look at what to expect this season.
The Challenge was the very first reality competition series when it launched on June 1, 1998 on MTV. The Challenge: USA is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and Bunim/Murray Productions with Julie Pizzi, Kevin Lee, and Jacob Lane.
