A new teaser for the highly-anticipated second season of Loki has dropped and as Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) states, “everything is turning to s**t.”
After the sacred timeline was fractured in the Season 1 finale when Sylvie stabbed the all-powerful He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is now facing some extreme consequences because of it as he experiences something known as “time slipping.”
“What I’m about to tell you is gonna be hard to believe… again,” Loki says to an unknown individual. As he continues, he says, “I’ve been pulled through time, between the past and the present and the future.” His words suggest the new season will take viewers further into the future of the MCU, which wasn’t explored when Loki‘s first season ran.
Reunited with Mobius (Owen Wilson), Sylvie, Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), and even Casey (Eugene Cordero), they’ll team up with Ke Huy Quan‘s new character to try and repair the crumbling timelines, and perhaps defeat Victor Timely (also Majors), one of He Who Remains’ variants who appears alongside Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer.
“Around and around and around we go,” Timely says, hinting at a neverending loop of chaos. Can Loki and crew overcome it? Only time will tell for certain.
While no official Season 2 logline has been unveiled yet, the Marvel show promises new excitement as it thrusts the infamous God of Mischief into a new set of adventures with the TVA. As previously teased, McDonald’s will have a supporting role as the location where Loki and Sylvie supposedly reunite as they feature in various promos for the fast food chain.
Loki’s trip to McDonald’s will see him step back into the past for a 1982-set encounter. Stay tuned for more info on Loki‘s upcoming season as the show’s return nears on Disney+.
