That was fast! Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24 promise someone will return who left only a month ago.
It’s not a recast, either, and there are strong reasons for this return.
Still, Days of Our Lives needs to close its revolving door, especially if people are going to have emotional farewells only weeks before they return to our screens.
Why Eric Brady Is Returning To Salem
He’s Here To Support His Family
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24 say that Eric comes back to Salem to support Brady and see Marlena.
There’s no word on what’s happening with Nicole, so hopefully the series hasn’t dealt with Ari Zucker’s lawsuit by having Eric and Nicole break up off-screen weeks after they left together.
Eric’s visit will likely be short, but it’ll probably lead to some unintentional chaos.
Brady is in a similar situation to the one Eric found himself in after his drunk driving led to Daniel’s death.
EJ tried to blackmail Nicole by threatening to tell Holly that her beloved stepfather killed her dad before she was born.
Thus, the math adds up to Holly overhearing Eric talking to Brady about this incident, especially since Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24 say that Holly is devastated when she learns about a secret that has been kept from her.
Of course, this could be misleading because Tate is supposed to “mess up” the day before, which means Sophia could cause trouble.
Still, it’s likely that Eric is going to break his stepdaughter’s heart without meaning to, and that’s far from the only thing that Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24 promise.
Lots Of Body And Soul Drama Ahead
This Silly Storyline Is Far From Over
Days of Our Lives’ meta storyline wore out its welcome a while ago, but unfortunately, it’s here to stay, at least for the forseeable future.
Sadly, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24 promise several developments in this story, with Hattie giving Bonnie a warning, Johnny and Chanel being unhappy about Alex auditioning to play Chanel’s lover, and Paulina and Abe having a fight.
The Paulina and Abe spoiler might not be about Body & Soul. Paulina’s been stressed out about her mayoral approval rating since Rafe’s attack, so she could explode about anything.
Still, she might be unhappy that her daughter is auditioning for Body & Soul or that Abe is spending so much time on this stupid project rather than focusing on her during their time together.
Fake Abigail Confronts Stefan
She’s Not Happy To Learn He Raped A Woman With DID
I’m not sure how to feel about Fake Abigail’s anger over what Stefan did to the real Abigail.
Days of Our Lives has a lot to do to clean up its reputation when it comes to messaging around sexual assault.
The once groundbreaking soap has too often blamed victims for the attack or judged them as if their encounters were consensual.
Acknowledging that Stefan did indeed rape Abigail is a step in the right direction.
However, it’s not clear that Fake Abigail is outraged as much as it is that she wants her cover story to be believed.
That undermines the message that taking advantage of a person with a serious mental health condition is actually rape.
Chad Turns To Stephanie For Help
Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 9-02-24 Say He Wants Her Take On The Abigail Situation
This is the kind of strange situation that only happens in Salem, but did anyone not see this coming?
Stephanie broke up with Chad because he couldn’t move past his wife’s death enough to propose marriage, and now her new boyfriend is dead.
She should have a greater understanding of what Chad was going through, so it was only a matter of time before these two were thrown back together.
Still, I wouldn’t move forward romantically if I were Stephanie.
Not only is it way too soon after Everett’s death, but Chad’s turning to her for advice about what to do to jog the memory of his amnesiac wife now that she’s supposedly alive after all.
Gabi Comes Clean With Stefan
She Tells Him She Slept With EJ
Although Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24 call this “coming clean,” let’s be honest: this was Gabi’s plan.
She wanted to sleep with someone else and make Stefan feel betrayed, and a roll in the hay with EJ would hurt him more than one with any other man.
The only disappointing part here is that EJ went along with it so easily. He should be smarter than that.
Still, Stefan will probably unleash his fury at EJ for “stealing” his wife, as if Gabi didn’t choose to do it too. Ugh.
Let’s hope this doesn’t turn into a competition between the brothers for Gabi’s heart. That’s a tired TV trope DAYS has used far too many times recently.
Leo Quits The Specator
He’s Trading In His Gossip Credential For A Screenwriting Gig
While it makes sense for Leo to move on, this is one of the most disappointing Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-02-24.
Leo’s not my favorite character, but someone needs to work for The Spectator.
Everett’s dead, Jack went back to Boston, and Chad is running around trying to figure out how to make Fake Abigail remember their life together.
Leo leaving The Spectator means that the TV workplace storylines at the newspaper office are over, and that’s a shame.
Plus, characters are still going to learn things from reading the news online, so who is writing it now that everyone is gone?
Eric Returns To Salem
He’s Here To Try To Help With Brady’s Situation
Eric is the perfect person to try to talk some sense into Brady and offer Marlena support… or he would be if he hadn’t just left.
As silly as it seems for him to jet back and forth from Paris like it’s nothing, Eric has a reason to be in town.
Brady is the kind of likable character we’d never hang out with because he’s self-destructive in such stupid ways.
He’s forever falling for some woman who isn’t worth it and then turning to alcohol or drugs when everything falls apart with her.
Still, he deserves his brother’s support, and Marlena needs her son in town, even if it’s only for a short while.
John Tries To Reason With Brady
Brady Is Determined To Confess When He Isn’t Sure He’s Guilty
It’s understandable why Brady is hellbent on confessing.
Although he doesn’t remember the night of the accident, he has no reason to believe he didn’t hit Sarah.
He doesn’t know what the audience does about Fiona driving his car, and all the evidence he does have points to him having run her over and sped away.
Still, this isn’t the first time this has happened to Brady.
Doesn’t he remember that the twisted love triangle with Philip ended with Philip faking his death and making it appear that Brady got drunk and killed him?
Brady had no memory of that incident either, yet he was completely innocent.
Now he wants to confess to a crime he didn’t commit, and, sadly, it’s unlikely that John will be able to talk him out of it.
Holly Has a Devastating Week
After Tate Messes Up, She Learns A Heartbreaking Secret
Holly learning that Eric killed her father could be as strong as when JJ Deveraux learned what his late father had done to his Aunt Kayla.
Like Holly, JJ had gotten in trouble with drugs, though the story in which adults tried to stop him and Paige from being together because of it came later, so it’ll be an interesting comparison.
Holly hasn’t shown as many mental health issues as JJ did, though she has had her share of tantrums, and she’s wanted her mother and Eric to get back together forever.
So if she does learn that no one bothered to tell her that Eric killed her father, there’s no telling how she’ll react. If done properly, this could be a powerful storyline.
