The Open Championship (or the British Open as we call it in the States) returns to the hallowed ground of the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland for its 150th edition July 14-17.
Top contenders to win the Claret Jug in the year’s final major tournament include Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and defending British Open champion Collin Morikawa.
After skipping the U.S. Open in June, Tiger Woods returns to competition at The Open. He’s won the tournament three times, and two of those wins came at St. Andrews (2000, ’05). He’s scheduled to tee off Thursday at 9:59am ET.
USA Network and NBC air The Open on TV, with streaming coverage available on Peacock, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
Mike Tirico hosts the broadcast and also does play-by-play duty, rotating with Dan Hicks and Terry Gannon. Analysts are Paul Azinger, Justin Leonard and Nick Faldo.
