It’s Pride Month, which is amazing. However, in the past year, there’s been unprecedented discrimination and prejudice against LGBTQ folk and an alarming amount of anti-LGBTQ legislation.
It’s also surprisingly been a year of moving backward when it comes to celebs supporting the LGTBQ community, so it’s important to realize that homophobia and transphobia are still sadly alive.
Here are 13 times celebs were homophobic or transphobic in the past year:

Too Hot to Handle star Harry Jowsey called James Charles the f-slur on the Tap In podcast:

DaBaby described people living with HIV as “nasty” and “junkies”:

And then Dave Chappelle joked about the situation in his Netflix special The Closer.

Boosie BadAzz went on a wild anti-gay Twitter rant about Lil Nas X:
Boosie didn’t apologize, but Lil Nas X did address the rant with joke tweet:

Ricky Gervais was called out for the anti-trans jokes in his Netflix special Supernature:

And he did a weird bit about how “amazing” AIDS is and how God sent it to Africa because “they’re dying anyway”:

While criticizing Pete Buttigieg’s run as mayor of South Bend, conservative pundit Tucker Carlson went on a weird, anti-gay rant about him taking paternity leave:
Pete responded to the rant. “Well, look, in his case, I guess he just doesn’t understand the concept of bottle feeding, let alone the concept of paternity leave.”
