A new Star Trek movie is in the works from Andor and Black Mirror director Toby Haynes.
The film was written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Now You See Me 3, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), and will reportedly be set several decades prior to the events of the most recent Star Trek franchise starring Chris Pine.
Star Trek will mark Haynes’ feature film debut. He previously directed six of the 10 episodes in Andor’s first season, as well as two Black Mirror episodes, including the Star Trek-inspired “USS Callister.”
Speaking of the Pine-led franchise, the long-gestating fourth film is still in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The move recent installment, Star Trek Beyond, was released in 2016.
All that’s in addition to the numerous Star Trek television series residing on Paramount+, including Strange New Worlds, Discovery, Lower Decks, and Picard.
