HEALTH have shared a cover of Deftones’ “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” via the Spotify Singles series.
One of Deftones’ earliest hits, “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” is re-imagined as a synthpop song by HEALTH. Jake Duzsik’s falsetto hits the same melodic heights as Chino Moreno on the original, and the synth treatment fits the song perfectly, adding a nocturnal ambience to the Around the Fur highlight.
While the cover is only available on Spotify, it does arrive just days before the physical release of HEALTH’s latest album RAT WARS on vinyl, CD, and cassette this Friday (February 16th). The band offered up the album on streaming platforms back in December in a somewhat unconventional, late-year drop, sneaking into our list of the best underground heavy albums of 2023.
