Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav has helped raise money to bring a US Paralympian’s parents to attend the Paris Games.
Flavor Flav, who has been an ardent supporter of the Olympics this year, has now lended his hand once again – this time to Nick Mayhugh, a sprinter due to compete at the Paralympics this year. Mayhugh has previously won three gold medals at the Tokyo Games; however, due to the pandemic, his parents could not attend.
Now, the rapper has taken to X/Twitter to share Mayhugh’s GoFundMe, writing: “Imagine spending 18 years taking ya kid to every practice and game and working 2-3 jobs to buy equipment, and then not being able to watch them play the biggest game of they life.”
Flav’s callout meant that Mayhugh reached his goal within a day of having his campaign shared by the Public Enemy star. Flavor Flav went on to reveal he has helped fully fund 35 Olympian and Paralympian GoFundMe campaigns this year.
THIS is just one of the many @gofundme for the @Olympics and @Paralympics that I support.

Flavor Flav recently made headlines for unveiling the custom bronze clock he made for Olympic gymnast, Jordan Chiles, this week (August 12).
The gymnast was ordered to return a bronze medal that she won at the Paris Olympics by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after it was ruled that Chiles’ coach made her appeal just four seconds too late.
Flav took to Instagram to show off the custom clock, writing: “USA gonna Fight The Powers that be. but in the meantime between time, I gots yo back @jordanchiles Hit me up.”
He also went viral as the official “hype man” for Team USA’s water polo team, saying: “This is quite an experience for me right now, you know, because the only time I’ve ever seen the Olympics was on TV. You know what I’m saying? But I always wanted to see what it felt like being there.”
In other news, Flavor Flav has received his own Olympics-themed Funko POP! doll.
