Dolly Parton might not be from Texas, but she does know a thing or two about cowboys. The country legend will give us something to be thankful for as the halftime show performer during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game next month.
The Cowboys will face off against the Washington Commanders on Thursday, November 23rd game at their home AT&T Stadium, with Parton headlining the musical event. The singer announced the news in a reel shared to Instagram, in which she and a pair of Cowboys cheerleaders grab their glue guns to bezaddle a performance playbook, a football, and a custom jersey. “I’ll see y’all this Thanksgiving!” she says giddily, in her Lone Star-spangled getup.
Ever the philanthropist, Parton’s show will also serve as the opening act for The Salvation Army and its annual Red Kettle Kickoff fundraising campaign. See the Instagram reel revealing the announcement below.
Parton has also been busy lately making her new album Rockstar, which arrives November 17th. Its star-studded tracklist features covers of rock classics like The Beatles’ “Let It Be,” 4 Non-Blonde’s “What’s Up?,” Heart’s “Magic Man,” and Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
