Brad Pitt has a need, a need for speeeeed. That’s why he’s linked up with Top Gun Maverick director Joseph Kosinski for the upcoming film F1, which just dropped its first trailer. Watch the preview below.
Produced by Apple and F1 and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, F1 follows Pitt as a fictional Formula 1 driver looking to reclaim his glory on the track. To do so, he teams up with an up-and-coming rookie played by Damson Idris to bring a championship to their racing team.
In addition to Pitt and Idris, the film is also set to boast performances from Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, and others. Top Gun Maverick writer Ehren Kruger helmed the screenplay, and Hanz Zimmer is set to compose the original score.
The production of F1 has been a bit tumultuous. After getting delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the project’s budget has reportedly exploded to over $300 million, according to Puck‘s Matthew Belloni. Such a price tag marks it as one of the most expensive productions of all time, putting it in the company of films like Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning and Avatar.
F1 is set for a 2025 release. To hold you over, watch the first teaser below. You can also revisit our review of Top Gun Maverick here.
