Alice Cooper has launched his latest campaign for president of the United States, declaring his candidacy for the 2024 election. Before you get too excited at the prospect of the shock rocker taking over the Oval Office, he has satirically run for president every four years since 1972.
At 76 years old, Cooper would be the youngster among current candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump. He’d also be the only Rock & Roll Hall of Famer among the three.

Cooper launched his first campaign in 1972 upon the release of his now-classic single “Elected,” on which he sings, “I’m your top prime cut of meat, I’m your choice/ I wanna be elected/ I’m your yankee doodle dandy in a gold Rolls Royce/ I wanna be elected.”
For his 2024 platform, he declares in a just-released campaign video, “Well, I’m Alice Cooper and I’m a troubled man for troubled times. I have absolutely no idea what to do, so I should fit right in.”
A description encourages members of the rock icon’s Wild Party to “sign up to receive updates on the campaign kick-off, ongoing virtual rallies, Q&A sessions, and more” at AliceforPresident.com.
Look for Cooper to do some campaigning when he kicks off his co-headlining summer US tour with Rob Zombie, featuring the politically minded bands Ministry and Filter as support. Prior to that, he’ll embark on his own headlining stateside outing earlier in the summer, giving him plenty of face time with American voters. Tickets to both tours are available here.
