It’s time to learn who won during the 76th annual Emmy Awards — yes, we just did this nine months ago, but this time stalwart winners like Succession are no longer in play, leaving room for new competitors like… Well, The Bear returns to compete in the Outstanding Comedy category (whether or not you think it’s a comedy), but otherwise there’s a lot of new blood amongst the shows nominated for Emmys in 2024.
Other comedy series nominated this year include Abbott Elementary, Palm Royale, and Reservation Dogs — bittersweet in the case of the latter, as this nomination comes for the show’s final season, and its odds against The Bear aren’t necessarily great. Meanwhile, the Limited Series contenders this year include Baby Reindeer, True Detective: Night Country, and Fargo, with the buzzy Baby Reindeer likely to take the top prize.
Additionally, series like Shōgun, Fallout, and The Crown will vie for the top prizes in the Drama categories: With Succession no longer in the mix, previous winner The Crown could be considered a serious contender — except that FX’s Shōgun was this year’s nominations leader with 25 nods, and the show’s first season already won 14 awards during the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend.
But like any awards show, the Emmys are capable of surprises, and what those surprises might be will be unveiled on Sunday, September 15th starting at 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET on ABC. Emmy winners Eugene and Dan Levy will host the ceremony. Check out the full winners list below, updated live over the course of the evening.
