Dhruva Natchathiram, the much-anticipated film starring Chiyaan Vikram, release date has been delayed again. Despite its journey through production challenges since 2016, the film has managed to keep fans on the edge of their seats for famous and infamous reasons.
Dhruva Natchathiram starring Vikram to release on December 8
Originally slated for release on November 24, 2023, the film faced another setback due to lingering financial issues. The latest update, as reported by industry tracker AB George, is that the release date has been rescheduled once again.
Set for a November 30 release, the film is now confirmed to hit the screens on December 8, 2023. The information is said to be based on messages received by theatres in Kerala from the distributors, although official confirmation is still pending.
Dhruva Natchathiram’s director, Gautham Vasudev Menon, has been struggling with financial setbacks. This is one of the multiple reasons behind the delayed release of the much-anticipated film.
The director made an official announcement regarding the release on November 24, 2023, the day it was originally scheduled for release. He stated, “Sorry. Unable to get Dhruva Natchathiram to the screens today. We tried our best, but it seems we need a day or two more. Hoping to provide everyone with a great experience with advance bookings and proper screens worldwide. The support for the film is heartwarming and has kept us going. Just a few more days, and we’ll arrive!”
This recent unexpected delay has left fans disappointed, especially considering the film’s extensive production journey since 2018 and its previous delays.
All things considered, the film’s satellite and digital rights remain unsold, impacting its pre-release business significantly. Menon is currently facing challenges in securing deals with OTT platforms due to the delay and other unresolved issues.
The delay in the film’s release has intensified the criticism faced by the director. However, the loyal fan base of both Vikram and Menon continues to show support.
