There’s a new trio gracing television screens soon. A24 unveiled the new image for its upcoming comedy series The Curse, which will star Emma Stone, Benny Safdie, and Nathan Fielder. True to the series title, the photo exudes a peculiar atmosphere that only leaves more questions than answers about the forthcoming show.
The newly released photo’s eerie and odd aura suggests that the upcoming comedy will be nothing short of an absurd and exciting viewing experience. The image, which you can check out below, sees the trio standing outside a window, seemingly engaged in an argument. But though the unsettling photo features the main cast, the image’s main subject — an unnamed woman — appears to be raising an eyebrow about the commotion she’s hearing from the outside.
A New Show to Keep an Eye On
The Curse, which will debut at the New York Film Festival this fall, will follow newlyweds — Whitney (Stone) and Asher Siegel (Fielder) — as they deal with an alleged “curse” that appears to be interfering with their relationship. Described as “a genre-bending scripted comedy,” the upcoming series will explore the couples’ attempts to conceive a child while also co-starring on their troubled HGTV show Flipanthropy.
In addition to starring as the main lead in the show, Fielder also served as The Curse’s creator and writer, along with Safdie, who will be starring in the series as the HGTV producer. Joining the main trio are Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law), Barkhad Abdi (Good Time), and Constance Shulman (Orange Is the New Black).
No official release date has been set yet for The Curse, but it will reportedly premiere on Showtime after its NYFF debut.
