The Beanie Bubble trailer for Apple Original Films‘ upcoming biographical comedy-drama has been released, starring Zach Galifianakis and Elizabeth Banks. The film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on July 21, followed by its Apple TV+ debut on July 28.
The video teases the origins of the famous toy line Beanie Babies and how it completely took over consumers during the 1990s. It features Galifianakis portraying the role of founder Ty Warner, who transformed himself from a struggling toy salesman to a billionaire with the help of three women. The trailer shows how he will undermine these women’s contributions for the sake of his advancement, including betraying Banks’ character.

Who’s Involved in The Beanie Bubble?
Based on Zac Bissonnette’s 2015 novel The Great Beanie Baby Bubble, the film is directed by Kristin Gore and Damian Kulash Jr. from a screenplay Gore wrote. Joining Banks and Galifianakis are Sarah Snook (Succession), Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers), Kurt Yaeger (Sons of Anarchy), Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Hacks), and Tracy Bonner.
“Why did the world suddenly treat stuffed animals like gold? Ty Warner was a frustrated toy salesman until his collaboration with three women grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history,” reads the synopsis. “The Beanie Bubble is an inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn’t appear on the heart-shaped tag.”
The film is produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Karen Lunder, with Galiafinakis and Douglas S. Jones also executive producing.
