The official Steamboat Silly trailer for the final installment to Disney+‘s The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse has been released, as part of the upcoming 100th anniversary celebration of Disney Animation Studios.
The video features Mickey Mouse meeting the iconic Steamboat Willie. This is the popular Disney character from the 1928 short film, which served as the prototype for Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The episode will stream on July 28.
“Steamboat Silly follows Mickey Mouse and his friends as they must stop hundreds of old film reel versions of Mickey from wreaking havoc all over town,” reads the logline.

What is The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse?
The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse spotlights the endearing, adventurous, and comedic antics of Mickey Mouse, Disney’s #1 star. It’s geared towards kids, families, and fans of all ages. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation. It hails from executive producers Paul Rudish and Philip M. Cohen. Steamboat Silly is directed by Eddie Trigueros.
Besides Steamboat Silly, Disney Animation Studios will release another short film for its 100th anniversary titled Once Upon a Studio. The short will debut alongside the upcoming animated fantasy movie, Wish. The nine-minute short is expected to blend live-action with animation, and will assemble over 400 of Disney’s most beloved animated characters. This includes Mickey Mouse and friends, the Disney Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, Genie, Olaf, and more.
