According to Deadline, Emmy winner Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) is officially joining co-creator Jason Segel in the cast of Apple TV+’s upcoming Shrinking Season 2.
Further details about Goldstein’s character are still being kept under wraps, but he will reportedly be set as a guest-star. Prior to his Season 2 casting, the outlet’s sources noted that they were actually “multiple attempts” for Goldstein to appear during the first installment, which wrapped up its 10-episode run more than a year ago.
Who’s involved in Shrinking?
Shrinking is written and executive produced by Segel, Goldstein, and Bill Lawrence, with the latter serving as the showrunner. The series stars Segel as Jimmy, Harrison Ford as Paul, Christa Miller as Liz, Jessica Williams as Gaby, Michael Urie as Brian, Luke Tennie as Sean, and Lukita Maxwell as Alice. Executive producers are Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer, with Warner Bros. Television as its producing studio.
“The series follows a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks,” reads the synopsis. “Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives . . . including his own.”
