Nintendo added two more games — Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age — to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass yesterday, January 17. The two Game Boy Advance games join an ever-growing library of NES, SNES, SEGA Genesis, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy games available to subscribers.
Golden Sun is available on Nintendo Switch Online now
Both Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are available now as part of the Game Boy Advance library included with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The game joins the GBA Collection alongside titles like Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, the Super Mario Advance games, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania, and Fire Emblem.
Golden Sun is an RPG where a band of teenage Adepts are tasked with protecting the world of Weyard from the destructive power of alchemy. Weyard is composed entirely of four elements, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter. The problem is that not only can alchemy use these to create civilizations, but it can also manipulate them to cause conflict. The Adepts must use new Psynergy magic abilities to once again safely seal alchemy away.
The sequel, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, tells the second part of the story started in Golden Sun. This time players see the viewpoint of the Adepts who are trying to restore the power of alchemy in Weyard. While items and characters could be transferred from Golden Sun to The Lost Age on Game Boy Advance, it’s unclear whether that functionality remains in the Nintendo Switch Online versions.
Nintendo hasn’t announced what Nintendo Switch Online games players can look forward to next month. However, they’ve announced that F-Zero Maximum Velocity will come to the Game Boy Advance library at some point in the future.
