Following recent rumors about Jim Carrey reportedly reprising his iconic role as the Grinch in an upcoming movie, the Golden Globe winner immediately addressed The Grinch 2 casting rumor.
According to People, Carrey’s representative debunked the reports about the acclaimed actor’s return as the Grinch in a potential sequel to 2000’s classic Christmas movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas. “There is no truth to Jim reprising his role as the Grinch in a sequel to The Grinch,” said the rep.
This Grinch 2 rumor comes after Carrey previously announced his decision to retire from acting following his performance as Dr. Robotnik in 2022’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Now that he has decided to step away from acting, it’s currently unclear if he will be reprising his role as the villain in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
