Miramax has set the release date for Here, Robert Zemeckis‘ latest project starring Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, with the film set to release later this year.
The drama will get a three-step platform release this fall (via Variety), with the project exclusively premiering in Los Angeles and New York on November 15, 2024, followed by a limited release on November 22, 2024. Following that, a wide release is planned for November 27, 2024.
The movie will be the latest project from the legendary Zemeckis since his 2022 live-action adaptation of Disney’s Pinocchio, which also starred Hanks as Geppetto. In total, this will be Zemeckis’ and Hanks’ fifth collaboration for a film, with the other three being Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and The Polar Express.
In addition to Hanks, Here will also star Robin Wright, Paul Bettany, and Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly.
What do we know about Here?
Here will be directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future trilogy) from a screenplay he is co-writing with Eric Roth. The film adaptation will be produced by Playtone and ImageMovers.
Set to take place from the past to the distant future, the story will center around a corner of a room and the many people who have inhabited it over the years. Richard McGuire originally published the Here as a 6-page coming strip in 1957. Over five decades later, the graphic novel version of the story was released in 2014 by Pantheon Books.
Prior to Pinocchio, Zemeckis and Hanks last collaborated on 1994’s Forrest Gump, which earned them individual Oscar Awards, including for Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Zemeckis and Hanks most recently worked together on Disney+’s live-action/CG-animated musical fantasy film Pinocchio.
