On Saturday evening, Zendaya and Tom Holland attended the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre’s gala and made quite a fashionable splash. The couple touched down in Mumbai on Friday, and enjoyed a day of yachting before their big night on the red carpet. They did not walk it together, but this was their first major public appearance at the same event since the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere in December 2021.
For the gala, Zendaya wore an absolutely stunning violet sari by Rahul Mishra covered in embroidered embellishments with a trailing train behind her. Under it she wore a gold bralette sewn in with leaf-shaped gold sequins. Holland was in a classic black tux and tie. They were later seen together inside talking along with Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach. Other celebs at NMACC include Gigi Hadid and Penelope Cruz.
This is also Zendaya and Roach’s first public event together since he announced his retirement in March. Roach wrote in a now deleted Instagram post that the job of being a celebrity stylist had gotten too political.
“If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out,” he wrote.
But he later clarified that he will stay by Zendaya’s side.
“So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z….. we are forever!” he tweeted. “She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love.”
While Zendaya and Holland seem to be avoiding the photographers together, at least in official photos, they appear to still be very much together. In March, the couple were seen with Holland’s parents in London, walking the family dogs.
