LED masking at home: So hot rn.
Biolage is here to target your fragile strands
Whether it be from colouring and heat styling, frequent brushing or exposure to extreme weather, our hair undergoes a lot of stress. Biolage’s Strength Recovery line takes a strategic approach to hair repair, with proven ingredients that target weak, fragile strands. Consisting of a shampoo, a conditioner, a deep-treatment mask and a leave-in spray, the range, which is suitable for all hair types, is infused with vegan squalane to replenish and protect the inner core of the hair and plant emollients that nourish and smooth the outer fibre for increased softness and shine.
Rodan + Fields ventures into haircare
After 15 years of developing results-driven, multiple-step skincare regimens, Rodan+Fields, the skincare brand founded by San Francisco-based dermatologists Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, has expanded into an entirely new beauty category this week: haircare. Taking a scalp-first approach via skincare-inspired ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid—the goal is to maintain the scalp moisture barrier—the brand new haircare collection consists of two three-step lines (think shampoo, conditioner and treatment) to choose from. There’s the Volume+ regimen to help repair fine hair and boost its thickness, and Smooth+ for ample hydration, defrizzing and shine. In addition to those two full regimens, you’ll also find two stylers: the Refresh+ Dry Shampoo and the Define+ Curl Cream.
Radford Beauty and Toronto illustrator Lauren Pearson collaborate for an at-home LED mask
Once restricted to the four walls of an aesthetician’s treatment room, light therapy devices have fully broken into the mainstream of at-home masking. This limited-edition LED mask from Canadian beauty brand Radford Beauty is FDA-approved and equipped with four different light settings so you can target different concerns simultaneously. Red light diminishes inflammation and pigmentation, blue targets excess oil, infrared increases moisture levels and mixed kills off bacteria. Flexible to feel comfortable while you wear it for each of the 10 to 15-minute treatments, the mask also features striking line drawings from Toronto illustrator Lauren Pearson.
