Homme Girls’ interview with Kylie Jenner, out today, couldn’t have been timed better. The 25-year-old star’s exclusive with the fashion publication was (perhaps strategically) released into the world the very same week that Jenner made headlines for her new romance with Timothée Chalamet. Her rare remarks don’t touch on Chalamet specifically, but she did candidly discuss the plastic surgery rumors about her, whether she wants more kids, and her belief in her life generally working out the way it’s fated to.
“I think I’ve always felt that way [that whatever happens happens],” she said. “I believe things are written for us. Whatever is gonna happen, it’s gonna happen. But I also feel very in control of my life and my decisions.” That comment is the closest she got to broaching anything about her love life.
Jenner was much more forthcoming about how she sees herself, revealing that becoming a mother only amplified her self-love. Her approach to beauty since becoming a mother, “changed so much,” she said. “It’s made me love myself more. I see my features in my daughter and my son now, but you know, my daughter looks like me. I get to see my beauty in her, and it’s made me love myself more for sure. Beauty is always changing for me.”
When asked about her lips being a source of insecurity that Jenner ultimately used to inspire and launch her business Kylie Cosmetics, Jenner explained that, contrary to popular belief, she hasn’t done much to her face. In fact, she always liked how she looked. “I think a big misconception about me is that I’ve had so much surgery on my face and that I was some insecure person, and I really wasn’t!” Jenner said. “Yeah, I love full lips and wanted full lips, but growing up I was always the most confident person in the room. I was the girl performing for everyone. I had my one lip insecurity thing, so I got lip filler, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret it. But I always thought I was cute.”
More recently, Jenner said she has changed up her beauty routine to be more minimalist. “I think less is more. I’ve really gotten down my full look, it’s still the same look but way less,” she said. “I’m just embracing my natural beauty, my freckles, and my bushy brows.”
Jenner is also embracing plot twists. When asked if Jenner wants any more kids in addition to 5-year-old Stormi and one-year-old Aire, she responded, “I don’t have a number in my mind. Some women do but I don’t really have a plan. I think that whatever happens is meant to happen.”
