On Friday, Jennifer Lawrence stepped out for a walk through the west village in Manhattan wearing a stunning skintight black dress with a deep plunge décolletage. The dress had long sleeves and the hem came just to Lawrence’s knees. She paired the look with neon green flip-flops and a pair of black sunglasses.
She left her long blonde hair down and carried a gold clutch bag, adding a gold necklace for a bit of sparkle.
The 32-year-old actress welcomed her first child with husband Cooke Maroney in February of this year. In an interview for the October issue of Vogue, Lawrence says the morning after she gave birth she felt like her “whole life had started over.”
“Like, now is day one of my life,” she explained.
The Hunger Games star admitted she wasn’t sure what to expect because it is “so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody.”
This has made her hesitant to talk about the experience now.
“If I say, ‘It was amazing from the start,’ some people will think, ‘It wasn’t amazing for me at first,’ and feel bad,” she said. “Fortunately I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, ‘It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.’”
She shared a story of being at about nine months into her pregnancy and discussing how she’d feel about her baby when it was born with her best friend.
“‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat,’” she remembered saying. “‘But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?’”
But once she was holding her son, who is named Cy, she felt a different level of affection than expected.
“I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere,” Lawrence continued. “Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss.’”
