This summer I’ve spotted an unexpected dress trend slip onto city streets alongside the more predictable strapless and poplin styles. Slowly, but very surely, the nightie dress trend has been gaining momentum over the past few weeks, and it’s about to hit peak appeal. In fact, it may already have, given the sheer amount of people I’ve seen wearing one lately.
Emulating the energy of a night gown, the nightie dress trend offers the lightweight and breathable styling solution that hot summer days call for. Decidedly romantic in its silhouette and detail—the design often features intricate embroidery or pretty lace hems—a nightie dress is a fun and and flirtatious addition to any frock collection.
