One big perk of being Taylor Swift’s longtime friend? Skipping the Ticketmaster craziness and getting tickets for her Eras tour straight from the source. Emma Stone spoke to W magazine and Vanity Fair at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday afternoon about her experience at Swift’s Phoenix show. (Stone went viral for a clip of her losing it in the crowd when she attended.)
“The concert was pretty amazing,” Stone told Vanity Fair’s red carpet reporter. “I was lucky ‘cause we’ve been friends for a really long time. I’ve known her since we were 17 and 18, so she hooked me up, which was very nice ‘cause I know those tickets are impossible to get. She’s a wonderful friend. She blows my mind. I mean, the amount of sheer stamina to do three and a half hours and perform 44 songs and to maintain the extreme energy of the audience—I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Stone added that she has no intention of ever doing a duet with Swift onstage. “Oh, God, hell no!” Stone said. “I can’t sing, like, for a massive stadium. Let’s not even go down that road. She has insane talent—I could never do what she does.”
To W, she made a similar point, noting that Swift played in her Arizona hometown: “It was kind of a full-circle moment,” Stone said. “I’ve known her since we were 17 and 18 years old, and it’s been amazing to see all of the ‘eras,’ from the beginning to now. And the concert was also choreographed by Mandy Moore, who was the choreographer for La La Land.”
