For her first-ever SAG Awards, Antonia Gentry was more than just an audience member. The 25-year-old Ginny & Georgia actress was a SAG Awards ambassador and presenter, appearing onstage alongside Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin to give the award out for Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series. Gentry opted for a spring-ready lavender gown by Celine and accessorized with REZA jewels. It was a soft, feminine look—and one with a lot of thought behind it.
In terms of beauty, Gentry’s updo gave the look a little edge, hair stylist Graham Nation explained: “The idea was a bang moment. The dress is beautiful—we wanted the hair to edge it up. Toni doesn’t normally wear her hair straight or this sleek, so we took it as a good opportunity to use the hair to balance out the look.”
And the makeup, created with Chanel Beauty products, was kept dainty. According to Gentry’s makeup artist Misha Shahzada, the inspiration was drawn primarily from the dress. “Its ethereal simplicity aligns with the overall soft makeup and eye moment,” she says.
Here, Gentry takes ELLE.com inside her night, while Nation and Shahzada break down how to recreate her hair and makeup for your own special evening.
