Moritt Hock & Hamroff, a New York-based law firm with an office in Garden City, is growing its Long Island team. The firm has announced the addition of Susan Coleman as counsel in its Litigation and Real Estate practices, and Michael Kwiatkowski as counsel in the Creditors’ Rights, Restructuring & Bankruptcy practice.
“We are pleased to welcome Susan and Michael to our growing bench of talent,” Michael Cardello III, managing partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff, said in a news release about the firm’s expanding Long Island office.

Coleman brings expertise in litigation, municipal law and land use. She previously served as Huntington’s town attorney, representing the town on matters involving zoning, land use, tax assessments and code enforcement.
Coleman also advised the town’s boards and agencies on its contracts, agreements and insurance policies. Earlier in her career she served as a state court litigator.
Kwiatkowski is a seasoned attorney with expertise in bankruptcy-related litigation and business reorganizations. Previously an attorney at a midsize New York law firm, Kwiatkowski represented and advised creditors in all aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
Kwiatkowski’s extensive experience includes representing financial institutions in workouts, foreclosures and commercial litigation matters. He works with lending clients to create strategies tailored to meet their business objectives and maximize recovery in connection with distressed loans.

Cardello emphasized the importance of strategic legal guidance for business owners.
“As today’s business landscape is increasingly driven by economic uncertainty, delivering trusted counsel has never been more critical. The deep expertise that Susan and Michael bring to the firm ensures our clients are well-equipped to navigate these challenges with confidence,” Cardello said.
The firm recently expanded in South Florida, with the addition of attorneys from a Fort Lauderdale-based boutique law firm who focus on business litigation, real estate and corporate law.
“The addition of Susan and Michael is further evidence of the high caliber of professionals that Moritt Hock & Hamroff is attracting and reflects our continued commitment to serve our clients across diverse geographies and practice areas,” Marc Hamroff, chairman at Moritt Hock & Hamroff, said in the news release.
