The School of Rock is opening a new location in Syosset and re-opening one of its schools in Albertson.
The newest Long Island location for School of Rock, which specializes in performance-based music education, is at 180 Michael Drive in Syosset, where a grand-opening event will be held on Saturday, August 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The following week, a grand reopening event is scheduled for Saturday, August 27 at the School of Rock at 915 Willis Ave. in Albertson.
The schools are owned and operated by franchisees Monica and Gene Rubin, who also have School of Rock locations in Rockville Centre and Huntington.
“Whether a musician, teacher, lawyer, salesperson, president, or anything else in life, we are always on stage,” Monica Rubin said in a company statement. “Teaching our children the confidence they need to rock the stage is a lifelong gift. Our schools are a clubhouse for our students where they can express themselves musically and be challenged by the incredible teachers we have, and I’m proud to be growing our School of Rock family.”
The all-in cost to open a School of Rock franchise ranges from $395,800 to $537,400, depending on size and location, according to the company.
“Monica and Gene are passionate about music and inspiring the next generation of young artists,” Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock, said in the statement. “We are delighted to celebrate their fourth school and to see them positively impact the lives of their students throughout the community.”
Founded in 1998 as a single school in Philadelphia, School of Rock now has over 500 schools open and in development across 15 global markets.
