Jericho students create book through Canon’s authors project
Students at Jericho High School participated in a book signing in support of their work as part of the Future Authors Project, a writing workshop supported by Canon Solutions America. The students got to experience the thrill of being published authors for their book “Forklore,” a collection of their works based on a culinary theme and how communal gatherings can help strengthen interpersonal connections.
As part of the project, students used Canon imaging equipment during the creative process to capture vivid photographs to accompany their written work. The writings and photos of the students were combined into the book, with each student earning a published author credit.
Natural history museum launches holiday Giving Back initiatives
The South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) has commenced its Giving Back initiatives this holiday season, highlighting its dedication to the local community.
During the Thanksgiving season, SOFO’s Co-Founder and Board President, Andy Sabin launched his Annual Appeal Challenge Grant, pledging to match all gifts under $10,000, up to a total of $50,000. This initiative inspires donors to double their impact and directly benefits SOFO’s educational and outreach programs.
The museum also donated proceeds from the Summer’s Gala’s Special Ask appeal to local food pantries serving underserved families in the Bridgehampton area. These contributions reflect SOFO’s commitment to supporting those in need over the holidays.
