A new restaurant called The Union is opening in Eisenhower Park.
The 100-plus-seat upscale eatery is located on the first floor of the building that formerly housed the Carltun on the Park, and will open on Tuesday, Sept. 26. It joins The Lanin catering facility and The General cigar bar and steakhouse.
Trahanas Hospitality Group invested about $7 million to renovate the 35,000-square-foot Eisenhower Park facility that is owned by Nassau County and now also home to The Lanin, The General and The Union, all operated by Trahanas. The company also operates the concessions at Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Park under contract with the New York State Department of Parks and Recreation.
“The Union is this year’s most exciting entry into the Long Island dining scene,” Elias Trahanas, co-founder of Trahanas Hospitality Group, said in a company statement. “Coupled with our banquet facility, The Lannin, and our members-only lounge, The General, we are providing a trio of experiences under one roof that will excite and attract a wide variety of diners from around the region.”
Designed and decorated by Dallago and Associates, The Union also features a 20-seat stone-topped bar where a sushi chef prepares selections to order. There is an outdoor covered patio with a view of the Eisenhower Park Golf Course and a secondary dining room overlooking the golf course.
The Union’s menu, which offers a variety of small plates, pizzas, salads, main dishes and sides, was created by Tom Gloster, the executive chef of all three of the new Eisenhower Park restaurants.
