The Cotocon Group, a Hicksville-based sustainability consulting firm, is launching a new mobile app that monitors a building’s energy and carbon usage.
The app, called The Carbon Shield, is designed to assist building owners, managers, and board members oversee their carbon usage in real-time. It aims to efficiently supervise energy use, monitor leaks and promote sustainability, compliance and cost savings.
“The launch of The Carbon Shield marks a significant step forward in energy monitoring and sustainability,” Jimmy Carchietta, CEO of The Carbon Shield and founder of The Cotocon Group, said in a company statement. “Our goal is to provide building owners and managers with the tools they need to manage their utilities efficiently and comply with New York City sustainability laws and most importantly protect their assets. We understand the unique challenges faced by owners and managers, and our app offers a tailored solution to meet those needs.”
The new mobile Carbon Shield app allows users to optimize resource allocation and reduce utility waste without the costs associated with traditional energy management services, according to the company. It allows users to track their electric, gas, water, steam and oil usage and updates them on compliance status with local laws.
Currently, the app, which integrates with Con-Ed, Utility API, National Grid, and other utilities throughout the country, will only be available through the Apple Store for IOS beginning Monday, August 19.
The Cotocon Group, which also has offices in Manhattan and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., consults property owners, managers and developers on reducing energy usage, decarbonization and regulatory compliance. New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has appointed the consulting firm as a primary energy consultant for projects relating to NYSERDA’ New Construction Initiatives. Cotocon Group is also a Technical Assistance Efficiency partner of PSEG Long Island, according to the company’s website.
