A new Kebab Express Halal Grill quick-service restaurant has opened in Syosset.
The 2,400-square-foot eatery, located at 408 Jericho Turnpike, is the chain’s second restaurant on Long Island, following its initial location at 10 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station. The company also has a restaurant at 235 Bleecker St. in Manhattan.
The diverse Mediterranean-inspired menu at Kebab Express features traditional kebabs, made with lamb, ground-chicken kofta and chicken breast, along with burgers, chicken wings and French fries. It also offers falafel, gyros, Shirazi tomato cucumber salad and baklava.
Kebab Express was founded by Ramin Wahab, a former manager of several Kennedy Fried Chicken restaurants in Manhattan, and his brother Freddy.
The new Kebab Express in Syosset replaces The Greek Eats & Sweets, an ill-fated fast-casual concept that briefly occupied the space earlier this year. Opened for just a few weeks, The Greek closed amid a contractual dispute between its two partners.
Kebab Express was self-represented, while Derek Weinberger of MGD Investments, which manages the property, represented the landlord, True Blue Towers Inc., in the Syosset lease transaction.
